Economic Development
The City maintains proactive, professional economic development programs to address both the attraction of new employers and the expansion and retention needs of existing companies. Working in conjunction with other local, regional and state organizations, technical assistance and support services are provided to both our current and targeted new businesses and industries.
Fort Lauderdale’s Economic Development Department serves in an "ombudsman" role in addressing the needs of its corporate community. The Community Redevelopment Agency and Real Estate Division report to the department.
As the county seat and economic engine of Broward County, the City of Fort Lauderdale works closely with all agencies that share our vision.
