Film Fort Lauderdale!
Fort Lauderdale has long been attractive to filmmakers who take advantage of the diversity of the City’s locations. Production designers and directors love the unique character of the City’s neighborhoods and the beach, made even more popular by the Wave Wall for interesting beach driving shots.
Fort Lauderdale’s unique architectural styles and upscale ambience make popular film backdrop. In 2007, the City hosted 40 television commercials and 11 feature films.
Among the 2007 projects:
- Feature films: Bart Got a Room; My Life Untitled; Lost Everything; One Day Late; The Forgotten Father
- TV commercials: McDonalds, Burger King, Capital One, Ford, Chevrolet, BMW, ITT Tech, Publix, Wize Trade, MTV
- Still photos: Bayer; Good Housekeeping; Hershey’s
- TV specials/documentary/other: Burn Notice; Luxury Homes by the Sea; Coca-Cola; World’s Richest; Career Watch; Return to the Cruise; I Bet On; Up “N” Coming
With Florida’s new film financial incentive and the addition of a number of star-quality resort hotels, Fort Lauderdale can look forward to adding many more film production dollars to its economy. Supporting and welcoming film and television production brings big dividends plus the added bonus of promotion for the City.
