Tours

Executive Airport offers an educational and Fun Tour Program for school-age children. The tours include a visit to the observation area where kids can view the airplanes and helicopters using the Airport and listen to the Air Traffic Control Tower.

The children will also visit the Fire Station where they will tour the station, get a chance to explore the Airport's 1500-gallon pump and roll fire truck, and get some valuable tips and information on fire safety from the Fort Lauderdale Fire Department.

If you would like more information on Executive Airport's tour program for children, please call the Airport at 954-828-4955.

Observation Area

In 1998 the Airport completed construction of a new Observation Area. The Observation Area offers a front row seat for watching airplanes and helicopters take off and land at Executive Airport.

The Observation Area has become a favorite lunchtime and early evening spot for people both on and off the Airport to observe the vast variety of interesting aircraft that use Executive Airport. The facility totals approximately 24,000 square feet and includes a lushly landscaped and sodded perimeter and a 3,700 square foot concrete raised viewing area. Three ten-foot wide steps with four ten foot by ten-foot planters lead up to the viewing platform where the public can get a close up view of Airport activity. The viewing area offers two picnic tables and four benches constructed out of recycled plastics.

The Observation Area is located on Perimeter Road along the approach end of Runway 8 in the southwest corner of the Airport. It can be accessed from Prospect Road just east of NW 31st Avenue. There are five parking positions and one handicapped parking space available. The facility is open during daylight hours.
