Noise Abatement for Pilots

The Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport is a noise-sensitive airport. Please take a few moments to review the recommended departure and arrival procedures as well as the map of noise-sensitive areas. Thank you for helping Executive Airport to be a good neighbor to our surrounding communities.

Recommended Departure and Arrival Procedures

Noise Abatement Diagram

Runway 8 Jet Departures

  • West and northwest jet departures climb at best angle and make left turn to 330 degree heading, as instructed by ATC, and fly above I-95 industrial area
  • South and East jet departures climb at best angle and reduce power, if possible, until after crossing the shoreline.

Runway 26 Departures

  • All departures climb at best angle and make turn to assigned heading over the Florida Turnpike; avoid turning before NW 31st Avenue.

Night Operations

  • Nighttime I-95 Turn - Runway 8, all jet departures instructed to turn left to 330 degree heading, as instructed by ATC, between 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
  • Voluntary nighttime Preferential Runway for all Departures is Runway 26 for all aircraft, wind permitting
  • Voluntary nighttime Preferential Runway for all Arrivals is Runway 8 for all aircraft, wind permitting

Other Noise Abatement Procedures

  • Voluntary use of jet noise abatement departure profiles
  • Voluntary restriction of jet use on Runway 13 and 31
  • Voluntary restriction of nighttime and weekend touch-and-go and practice approach operations
  • Prohibit maintenance engine run-ups between 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
