Fort Lauderdale, FL – Mayor John P. “Jack” Seiler and the Fort Lauderdale City Commission will officially recognize the following 2017 Citizens Recognition Awards honorees during the 43rd Annual Citizens Recognition Awards ceremony on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. in the Commission Chambers at Fort Lauderdale City Hall.

The Citizens Recognition Awards, established by the City of Fort Lauderdale in 1972, recognize citizens whose efforts and achievements foster civic pride and responsibility, encourage public service, develop an appreciation for the City's heritage, and significantly contribute to the development of the Fort Lauderdale community. Honorees are recommended by the Citizens Committee of Recognition and ratified by the Fort Lauderdale City Commission. More than 125 outstanding citizens have been recognized by the City since the program’s inception.
