Fort Lauderdale- The City of Fort Lauderdale is one of nation's best cities for parking according to a recent report by NerdWallet Finance, a national consumer financial group that gathers information to help consumers save time and money.

The study examined parking in cities throughout the country based primarily on costs and motor vehicle thefts per capita compared to national average. Fort Lauderdale ranked eighth on the organization's list of best cities for parking, scoring high marks for low motor vehicle theft, daily parking rates, and monthly unreserved parking rates.

"We are excited to receive this outstanding national ranking in an area that, oftentimes, can pose unique challenges for most cities," said Fort Lauderdale Mayor John P. "Jack" Seiler. "Through our citywide Vision, we are committed to providing convenient parking at reasonable rates, while working to create more connectivity, develop long-term mobility and sustainability solutions, and ultimately implement a safe multimodal transportation network for our neighbors and visitors."

Three other Florida cities, Jacksonville, Tampa, and West Palm Beach, were also named to the top 10 list, as were Boise, Greenville, Raleigh, Walnut Creek, Charleston, and Columbia.
