Administrative Services
Administrative Services provides support services
for all City departments. It provides support to
citizens by serving as liaison to the cable television
franchisee.
Central Services
Central Services conducts research projects and
prepares comprehensive reports on projects; of major
impact; conducts Resource Management System projects
and maintains the Policy and Standards Manual. Central
Services coordinates the department budget activity;
administers City contracts including: copier/duplication
equipment, School Crossing Guards, records management,
microfilming and storage of City records; provides
City Hall lobby reception, security, mail processing,
forms control, printing and graphic art services
to all City departments.
In addition, Central Services monitors the Central
Garage contract for the maintenance and repair of
all fleet vehicles and equipment; researches and
recommends for requesting departments the type of
equipment which best serves their specific needs;
prepares bid specifications for fleet vehicles and
equipment to be acquired and assists in their acquisition
and prepares and maintains the Vehicle Replacement
Plan.
Human Resources
Human Resources provides
overall direction to the City's personnel programs,
including key functions such as recruitment and assessment,
classification and compensation, employee development,
labor relations and employment records. In addition,
Human Resources administers or is involved with many
special programs, including
Employee
Assistance,
Employee Suggestion, Tuition Refund
and College Intern programs.
Information Technology
Information Technology establishes citywide information
systems standards; provides technical consulting,
system analysis, and related services to all City
departments for automation needs. In addition, Information
Technology supports the citywide enterprise network
electronically linking over 50 City buildings and
all computers within the City; maintains and supports
the City's telephone systems; provides customer support
for all computer applications throughout the City,
excluding Public Services and Police. Customer support
teams assist departments in meeting their technical
goals and objectives.
Information Technology also installs and maintains
all radio communications, closed network cable TV
public address systems within the City governmental
structure.
The City's Geographic
Information System (GIS) is also an integral
part of Information Technology. The GIS Section
provides direction and coordination of all GIS
activity citywide.
Parking Services
Parking Services provides
for the management of street, garage and lot parking
facilities, enforces parking regulations and collects
fines for violations. The Division also offers an
administrative hearing forum for parking disputes.
