BCIP/BCIGP Grant Cycle – May 2– July 28,
2005
The 2005/06 fiscal year grant cycle for the Business Capital
Improvement Program (BCIP) and the Business Capital Improvement
Grant Program (BCIGP) will begin on May 2 and run through
July 28, 2005. Business associations are encouraged to
apply for matching grants of up to $25,000 to fund capital
improvement projects that will enhance the appearance of
the City's business and commercial areas.
The BCIP/BCIGP may award up to $100,000 in funding per
year based upon the quality of the projects. Examples of
capital improvement projects that businesses have completed
with the assistance of BCIP/BCIGP grants include entranceway
signage, streetscapes, decorative lighting, sidewalks,
curbing and brick paver crosswalks.
Business associations interested in applying for BCIP/BCIGP
grants are highly encouraged to attend the following workshops:
Pre-Application/Orientation Workshops
May 11 and May 16, 2005

Two Pre-Application/Orientation Workshops have been developed
to provide business associations with information about
the BCIP/BCIGP program and assist with the application
process. The workshops will take place on Wednesday, May
11 and Monday, May 16, 2005 from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. at the
City of Fort Lauderdale Beach Community Center, located
at 3351 N.E. 33 Avenue. Both workshops will cover the same
information, meaning that business associations only need
to attend one of the workshops. For more information, please

Technical Assistance Workshop

A Technical Assistance Workshop is being offered to assist
business associations in preparing their project proposal
and costs. The workshop will take place on Wednesday, May
18, 2005 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the City of Fort Lauderdale
Beach Community Center, located at 3351 N.E. 33 Avenue.
