Department of Business Enterprises

The Department of Business Enterprises was established in October 2004 to combine those activities of municipal government that have a more entrepeneurial spirit. The divisions within the Business Enterprises Department are the Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Complex, the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport, Marine Facilities (Las Olas Marina, New River/Downtown Marina and Cooley's Landing), War Memorial Auditorium, City of Fort Lauderdale Municipal Cemeteries (Lauderdale Memorial Park, Sunset Memorial Gardens, Evergreen Historical Cemetery, Woodlawn Historical Cemetery), and the operation of an in-house Copy Center/Print Shop for intragovernmental and quasi-governmental entities.

Divisions of Business Enterprises

Aquatic Complex

Swimming, diving, lessons, and American Red Cross courses. You'll find it all inside the Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Complex. It offers many programs that meet the needs of everyone, from young children learning to swim to seniors staying fit with water aerobics. The Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Complex annually hosts 100 event days each year.

Municipal Cemeteries

The City of Fort Lauderdale has four municipal cemeteries. Learn more about the history and features of Evergreen Cemetery, Lauderdale Memorial Park Cemetery, Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, and Woodlawn Cemetery.

Central Services/Print Shop – City Hall Copy Center/Mail Room

This division operates a full service in-plant "business" offering high quality, in-house graphic design, copy, four-color print, bindery and mail services at a cost generally 25-30% less than outside vendors. A variety of brochures, stationery, carbonless forms, agendas, flyers, newsletters, and posters are produced for City departments as well as homeowners associations, local non-profit groups, and other governmental entities.

War Memorial Auditorium

The War Memorial Auditorium hosts local events, concerts, trade shows, and much more inside this 20,000 sqaure feet facility. The recent $2.5 million renovations and versitle set ups make this the perfect venue for any event.
