Community Area Planning Initiative (CAP)
Your Community, Your Vision, Your Decision!
Welcome to the Community Area Planning Initiative
(CAP), a City-Commission-sponsored program under
the direction of the Planning & Zoning Department.
The CAP Initiative is dedicated to offering the City
of Fort Lauderdale a new approach to urban planning.
Based on a combination of grassroots community input
and proactive government response, CAP provides the
Fort Lauderdale community with an opportunity to
help direct its future.
CAP Areas
 The
CAP staff has divided the City into five individual
community areas, and will focus on one plan area
at a time to address the unique issues and growing
diversity facing Fort Lauderdale.
