Precinct Plan

In 2002, the City of Fort Lauderdale commissioned a study to begin development of a Consolidated Downtown Master Plan focusing on intense growth in the central core, increasing residential opportunities downtown, encouraging mixed-income neighborhoods, strengthening neighborhood identity, providing alternatives to the automobile, creating pedestrian oriented buildings, and “greening” the downtown with a connected park system.

In concert with this effort, the Fort Lauderdale Community Redevelopment Agency has secured the planning and architectural services of Glatting Jackson to develop a precinct plan for the Flagler Village neighborhood. The Precinct Plan will involve a more detailed urban design and implementation strategy for the area including proposed zoning code amendments and a specific public investment plan for streets and infrastructure. Once completed, the Flagler Village Precinct Plan will serve as a vital demonstration project and catalyst for implementing strategies outlined in the Consolidated Downtown Master Plan.
