Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone)

Businesses that qualify under the HUBZone Empowerment Contracting program can receive federal contracting assistance, negotiate for sole source contracts, and participate in restricted competition limited to HUBZone businesses. To qualify, a business must have its principal office located within the HUBZone area, be owned by a US Citizen, and at least 35% of the employees must reside within the HUBZone. The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) regulates and implements the program.
