Bike Share Program Logo_Horiz_sm

Fort Lauderdale Bikes is a bike share program that provides an opportunity for all employees to ride a bike around the City at no cost! The bikes will be located in three convenient locations: City Hall, Department of Transportation and Mobility, and the Department of Sustainable Development. City employees can check out a bike to travel to and from meetings, get some exercise during their lunch break, or travel around town.

The Move with the Mayor event took place along the Flagler Greenway (N.E. 3rd Avenue and Flagler Drive) in Fort Lauderdale on February 26, 2016. This lunchtime fitness event encouraged employees and neighbors to bike, run, or walk with Mayor Seiler.  The event also provided an opportunity for the City to officially kick off Fort Lauderdale Bikes, the new employee bike share program; host a ribbon cutting for the revamped Flagler Greenway (a perfect venue for walking, running or biking); and provide employees with an opportunity to earn points toward their annual Wellness program goals.

We're Greening Our Routine One Pedal at a Time

2028 Greening Our routine Logo_lrgThe City strives to  incorporate sustainability into as many programs and services as possible, and Fort Lauderdale Bikes is no exception. The stations where the bikes are docked and locked are solar powered, which saves energy. Employees who ride the bikes will be using a completely emission free form of transportation, which improves air quality and reduces pollution. Biking also reduces traffic congestion, saves gas, creates a sense of place and community, and contributes to the overall wellness of our employees by promoting healthy activity. Watch our community builders green their routine as they pedal their way to a healthier, more sustainable lifestyle!
