Communications Center

The Fort Lauderdale Fire-Rescue Communication Center is located in the Fort Lauderdale Police headquarters. It is a multi-agency facility that serves the needs of 11 fire-rescue stations and two police agencies.

The Fire-Rescue Communications Division is comprised of a communications coordinator, three lead dispatchers, and nine communications specialists.

The Communication Center has a dedicated and highly skilled team with over 100 years experience. The Center processed over 41, 000 calls in 2009. These professionals strive to serve the citizens and visitors efficiently and effectively during an emergency. They are responsible for dispatching fire-rescue apparatus, answering non-emergency calls, as well as coordinating efforts with local agencies to expedite emergency scene management.
