GREEN/LOW -- Low Risk of Terrorist
Attacks
|
• Obtain How
Should Florida Prepare for Terrorism? brochure
from Emergency Management Office to distribute
at the neighborhood meeting.
• Develop a Family Disaster Plan and Disaster
Supply Kit using the How Should Florida Prepare for Terrorism? brochure.
• Have a neighborhood meeting to discuss emergency plans and establish
a "Neighborhood Watch" Plan.
• Promote, or arrange for people in the neighborhood to take, a CPR/AED
and first aid course.

BLUE/GUARDED -- General Risk of Terrorist Attacks
|
• Complete
recommended actions from previous level.
• Be alert to suspicious activity and report it to proper authorities.
• Ask local Red Cross chapter to offer the presentation called “Preparing
for the Unexpected” at an upcoming neighborhood meeting.

YELLOW/ELEVATED -- Significant Risk of Terrorist Attacks
|
• Complete
recommended actions from previous level.
• Be alert to suspicious activity and report it to proper authorities.
• Have a neighborhood meeting to identify neighbors who are elderly
or have special needs.
• Assist neighbors who are elderly or have special needs, develop Family
Disaster Plan and Disaster Supply Kit if required.

ORANGE/HIGH -- High Risk of Terrorist Attacks
|
• Complete
recommended actions from previous level.
• Be alert to suspicious activity and report it to proper authorities.
• Check on neighbors who are elderly or have special needs, review Family
Disaster Plan with them.
• If a need is announced, contact nearest blood collection agency
and offer to organize a neighborhood blood drive.

RED/SEVERE -- Severe Risk of Terrorist Attacks
|
• Complete
recommended actions from previous level.
• Listen to radio/TV for current information and/or instructions.
• Be alert to suspicious activity and report it to proper authorities
immediately.
• Adhere to travel restrictions announced by local governmental authorities.
• Be
prepared to "shelter in place" or
evacuate and assist neighbors who are elderly
or have special needs if instructed to do so
by local governmental authorities.
