All persons interested in employment with the City of Fort Lauderdale must complete an online application through the City’s online hiring system called NEOGOV that works in conjunction with GovernmentJobs.com. Paper employment applications are no longer accepted. Read the We've Gone Paperless! flyer and watch the following video for more information.
Effective July 1, 2012: The City of Fort Lauderdale now requires newly hired employees to accept payment by direct deposit. Payment by direct deposit will be a condition of employment and all new hires will be asked to designate where they would like their payroll checks to be directly deposited.
Applying Online
GovernmentJobs.com allows applicants to create a user account, apply for positions directly online, and even check the status of their candidacy. To get started and familiarize yourself with this process, please read the Online Application Guide. You may then proceed to the Current Job Opportunities page for further instruction.
The Current Job Opportunities list for the City of Fort Lauderdale is updated weekly. If you see a position for which you would like to apply, be sure to follow the instructions carefully. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered. You must submit a separate online application for each position for which you wish to be considered.
