Capital Improvement Programs

Grant Cycle for FY 2010 - June 29 to September 25, 2009

To enhance quality of life in our neighborhoods, the Fort Lauderdale City Commission has established four Capital Improvement Programs: the Neighborhood Capital Improvement Program (NCIP), the Neighborhood Capital Improvement Grant Program (NCIGP), the Business Capital Improvement Program (BCIP), and the Business Capital Improvement Grant Program (BCIGP).

The goal of these programs is to provide matching grant funds for the construction of capital improvements that beautify neighborhoods and enhance quality of life for those who live, work and visit the City of Fort Lauderdale.

NCIP/NCIGP

The NCIP/NCIGP may award up to $450,000 in funding per year based upon the quality of the projects. Examples of capital improvement projects that have been completed with the help of NCIP/NCIGP funding include neighborhood entranceway monuments and guardhouses, neighborhood identification signs, and enhanced neighborhood parks and streetscapes.

The current grant cycle for the Neighborhood Capital Improvement Program (NCIP) and the Neighborhood Capital Improvement Grant Program (NCIGP) began on June 29 and will run through September 25, 2009. Neighborhoods are encouraged to apply for up to $35,000 of matching grant funds for the construction of capital improvements to enhance their community.

BCIP/BCIGP

The BCIP/BCIGP may award up to $90,000 in funding per year based upon the quality of the projects. Examples of capital improvement projects that have been completed with the help of BCIP/BCIGP funding include entranceway signage, streetscapes, decorative lighting, sidewalks, curbing, and brick paver crosswalks.

The current grant cycle for the Business Capital Improvement Program (BCIP) and the Business Capital Improvement Grant Program (BCIGP) began on June 29 and will run through September 25, 2009. Businesses are encouraged to apply for up to $22,500 of matching grant funds for the construction of capital improvements to enhance their community.
