WOW Award Program
The Community Appearance Board’s monthly WOW Award Program recognizes residential properties throughout the City that contribute to the aesthetic appeal of the neighborhood. Board members select one winner each month from a different City Commission District. Winning properties represent excellence in their exterior beauty, style and landscaping.
Each WOW winner receives special recognition at a City Commission meeting. The mayor and City commissioners present the homeowner with a certificate of appreciation and a gift certificate from Causeway Lumber to assist with future home improvement projects. In addition, the homeowner receives a yard sign that can be displayed on their property and their home is featured on the City’s government access cable Channel 78.
WOW of the Year Award
In 2002, the Community Appearance Board introduced the WOW of the Year Award, to recognize one WOW winner that stands out among all homes selected during the calendar year. This award is presented at the annual Community Appearance Awards Program.
NEW!! Nominate a Fort Lauderdale Home for a WOW Award!
The Community Appearance Board has expanded its WOW Award program to provide additional opportunities for Fort Lauderdale homeowners to receive recognition for the outstanding appearance of their properties.
Residents may now nominate their own home or a neighbor’s home for a monthly WOW Award. The nomination may be for landscaping, renovation, property maintenance, overall exterior beauty and style, and neighborhood enhancement.
Nominating a property takes almost no time at all. Simply complete the information below and a Community Appearance Board member will follow up with the homeowner regarding the nomination.
