The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is conducting an Environmental Assessment (EA) to evaluate the potential environmental impact of the following Proposed Action at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL).
Proposed Action
The Proposed Action would allow FAA Air Traffic to use Runways 9R/27L (south runway) and 13/31 (diagonal runway) at FLL for jet traffic that cannot be efficiently accommodated on Runway 9L/27R (north runway) to promote runway flexibility and operational efficiency, particularly during peak periods. If approved, the Proposed Action is expected to be implemented in 2008.
Potential Impact on Fort Lauderdale
If approved, the Proposed Action described above could result in increased aircraft operations over neighborhoods in southwest Fort Lauderdale.
