Davie Boulevard Corridor Master Plan

Plan ReviewFor the past several years, revitalizing Davie Boulevard has been a top priority for the southwest Fort Lauderdale community. In Fall 2004, the Davie Boulevard Corridor Master Plan project began, intending to result in a redevelopment plan and streetscape and beautification plan that supports the community’s vision. The study area encompasses approximately two miles along Davie Boulevard from the western City limits at US 441/State Road 7 to Interstate 95 on the east. The project is being coordinated with the Florida Department of Transportation as part of their planned streetscape improvements.

On May 25, 2006 the City Commission accepted the Davie Boulevard Corridor Master Plan and directed City staff to move forward with regulatory changes, including land use and zoning amendments, to support the community vision.

Visioning quotes from Davie Boulevard community members:

"Davie Boulevard – ethnic diversity, small cultural restaurants, trendy shops, professional businesses, all within walking distance.”

"I would like to be able to ride my bicycle to Starbucks on the weekend, get a cup of coffee, sit out on the sidewalk and read the paper.”
