| Responsibilities: | Captain Dietrich is assigned to the Patrol Division District 2 Shift 3. Here she manages the day to day operations of the assigned sergeants and officers in order to meet the department goals & the community’s needs. |
History: | During her tenure with FLPD, she has worked in all the areas of the City to familiarize herself with the vast geography we have to patrol. She has served in the Special Problems Unit for 2 years and in the Honor Guard. Captain Dietrich was also a member of the SWAT Team, which provided her with excellent training and tactics. However, one of her biggest accomplishment during her tenure in patrol was becoming the first female motorcycle officer in the Fort Lauderdale Police Department. She remained as a Motor Officer for 5 years attending many competitions from Fort Lauderdale to New Orleans. While in New Orleans she won the award for the Top Female Rider. She was promoted to Sergeant in 2001. After six months as a Road Patrol Sergeant she had the opportunity to become the Sergeant in charge of the Training Unit. Captain Dietrich took over the Training Unit and was able to attend numerous training classes to include receiving her certification as a firearms instructor in multiple disciplines such as handgun, shotgun, rifle, and MP-5. She brought many training classes together for the department and developed a 40 hour training block for all personnel on an annual basis. She remained the Sergeant of the Training Unit for 4 years until she was promoted to Lieutenant and assigned as a Lieutenant in the Criminal Investigations Division. On September 10, 2006 she was promoted to Captain. |
