Captain Jan Jordan
Responsibilities: Assigned to the Patrol Division, District One / Shift Three, where she manages the day to day operations of the sergeants and officers in order to meet the needs of the community.
History: Captain Jordan started with the Fort Lauderdale Police Department May 1, 1989. She was a Patrol Officer in District One, District Two & District Three. During her career she has been assigned to the Beach Special Problems Unit, the Tactical Impact Unit, SWAT (entry & sniper teams), the Mounted Unit, as a DARE Officer, to the Hostage Negotiation Team and she was a Motorcycle Officer for six years. Captain Jordan is a certified firearms and motorcycle instructor. Captain Jordan was promoted to Sergeant in June 2002. She was assigned; Patrol Division District One / Shift Three and then to Patrol Division District Three / Shift One. She was then transferred to the Community Policing Division where she supervised Community Policing Component One, which included the Crisis Intervention Team, the Homeless Outreach Program, Code Enforcement, Crime Prevention, Parking Enforcement, Citizens on Patrol & the Mounted Unit. In October 2004, she was transferred to the Operations Support Division where she supervised the Motor Unit. In November 2005, she was promoted to Captain.
