City of Fort Lauderdale to Close Riverland Road

Fort Lauderdale - Riverland Road between SW 26 Avenue and SW 21 Street will close Monday, February 5, 2007 at 7 am for approximately one month. A new pump station for the sanitary sewer system is being constructed as part of the WaterWorks 2011 Capital Improvements Program. The closure was deemed necessary to ensure public safety due to the deep excavation required and the limited right-of-way.

Alternative route for motorists is SW 31 Avenue between Davie Boulevard and Riverland Road south of the construction. Local traffic will be detoured around the construction area.

Motorists are encouraged to follow posted detour signs and travel slowly in the construction and detour areas to ensure the safety of workers, pedestrians and other motorists.
