Fort Lauderdale - The City of Fort Lauderdale Utility Advisory Committee will host Energy Roundtable III at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2007, in the auditorium of the Broward County Main Library, located at 100 South Andrews Avenue.

Residents are invited to attend the Energy Roundtable to learn about the challenges and opportunities of municipalizing the City's power, including what municipalization could mean for customer utility rates.

The keynote address will be given by Trevor Underwood, President of Econintel Treasury Systems, Inc. Other speakers will include: Randy B. Knight, Assistant City Manager of Winter Park, Bob Bellemare, President and CEO of Utilipoint International Inc.; Bill Brier, Vice President of Policy and Public Affairs at the Edison Electric Institute; and Rod Macon, Regional Director, Florida Power & Light. Utility Advisory Committee Chairman Bunney Brenneman will moderate the event.

The Energy Roundtable is an annual event hosted by the Utility Advisory Committee (UAC) of the City of Fort Lauderdale and is free and open to the public. The speaking portion of the program will be followed by a Q&A session and reception. Attendees will also be able to visit information booths to gather materials on water conservation and City services.

The UAC was established in February 2002 to advise the City Commission on utilities that affect the City of Fort Lauderdale, its residents and its businesses.
