Fort Lauderdale Hosts National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives

Fort Lauderdale - Over 1,000 law enforcement officers from across the nation are gathering in Fort Lauderdale today though Wednesday for the 31st Annual Conference of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE). This is the group’s first national conference in Fort Lauderdale.

The conference, which is being held at the Broward County Convention Center, features educational sessions and information exchange programs.

The organization’s Annual Memorial March and Service is scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 1st, at Provident Park. Marchers will proceed from Provident Park east along Sistrunk Boulevard to the New Mount Olive Baptist Church where a memorial service will be held.

NOBLE’s stated mission is to “ensure equality in the administration of justice in the provision of public service to communities and to serve as the conscience of law enforcement by being committed to justice by action.”

NOBLE training programs include Community Policing, Cultural Diversity, Community Partnerships and Family Violence Response.

The City of Fort Lauderdale is extremely proud to welcome NOBLE.

NOTE: On Wednesday, August 1st, the following roadways will be temporarily closed from 8:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. for the Memorial March: Eastbound lanes of Sistrunk Boulevard from N.W. 15th Avenue to N.W. 9th Avenue and all of N.W. 9th Avenue from N.W. 6th Street to N.W. 4th Street.
