Winterfest Boat Parade December 15, 2007

Fort Lauderdale - The Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade will take place on Saturday, December 15, 2007. The parade will begin at approximately 6:30 p.m. at the Riverside Hotel located at 620 E Las Olas Blvd. The parade will travel east along the New River to the Intracoastal Waterway, where the route will turn north and continue up the Intracoastal to Lake Santa Barbara in Pompano Beach.

DECEMBER 15, 2007 – DAY OF BOAT PARADE – BOAT TRAFFIC ON THE NEW RIVER:
The New River will be closed to boat traffic at 3:00 p.m., so please try to exit the river no later than 2:30 p.m. Boats will be allowed to return to docks on the New River after the parade, at approximately 9:00 p.m.

SUGGESTED SPECTATOR CRAFT AREAS:
Suggested locations where you may view the parade are:

  • South West area of the “triangle” where the New River and the Intercoastal waterway meet
  • South end of Bahia Mar (Lake Sylvan Basin)
  • North of City Marina (ELO/ICW) on the East side
  • Middle River Confluence
  • Sunrise Bay (bay area North of Sunrise Blvd. on West side)

Control boats will be lined up along the parade route and will be marked with flashing amber lights and banners. Spectator crafts are required to line up behind designated control boats and be anchored.

BRIDGE OPENINGS:

The schedule for bridge openings/closings is as follows for December 15:

  • 7th AVENUE BRIDGE – 6:20 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
  • FECI RAILROAD BRIDGE – 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
  • ANDREWS AVENUE – 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
  • 3rd AVENUE BRIDGE – 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

PROCESSION SCHEDULE:

  • RIVERSIDE HOTEL – 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
  • LAS OLAS BOULEVARD – 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
  • SUNRISE BOULEVARD – 7:20 P.M. to 9:30 P.M.
  • OAKLAND PARK BOULEVARD – 7:40 P.M. to 10:00 P.M.
  • COMMERCIAL BOULEVARD – 8:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M.
