City of Fort Lauderdale to Host Spectacular July 4th Celebration

All-Day Events will Include DJ, Live Concerts and Fireworks

Fort Lauderdale - The City of Fort Lauderdale and Comcast invites residents and visitors to celebrate America's Independence by attending a free, all-day celebration on the beach from 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, July 4, 2008.

The festivities will kick off at 1:00 p.m., at Southeast 5th Street and A1A, where a DJ will host contests and games for children of all ages, including a water balloon toss and hoola-hoop contest.

The celebration will continue with a twilight concert featuring Storm Riders at 4:30 p.m. and The Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m., on a stage at Southeast 5th Street and A1A.

When the sun goes down, watch the sky light up as the City of Fort Lauderdale presents its annual fireworks show at 9:00 p.m. The show will take place off of A1A and Las Olas Boulevard. Don’t miss this premier pyrotechnic event!

The following is a summary of the City’s July 4 events:

  • 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. DJ Penn House, children’s activities, S.E. 5th Street and A1A
  • 4:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Live concerts, S.E. 5th Street and A1A
  • 9:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. Fireworks, off of A1A and Las Olas
