S.W. 11th Avenue Swing Bridge Temporarily Closed

Fort Lauderdale - The S.W. 11th Avenue Swing Bridge is closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic until further notice.

A boat recently damaged underwater cabling and electrical equipment, causing the bridge’s opening mechanism to be inoperable.

The City is currently in the process of securing replacement parts. Once the parts are secured, the necessary repairs will be made and the bridge will be reopened.

Marine traffic will not be affected by the closure.

Signage is posted in the area to alert motorists of the impeding bridge closure.

While the bridge is closed, vehicular traffic will be detoured to S.W. 7th / S.W. 4th Avenue. Motorists may also access the neighborhoods adjacent to the bridge via Broward Boulevard at S.W. 18th Avenue or Davie Boulevard at S.W. 15th Avenue.
