55th Annual David Deal Kids Day Offers Numerous Activities for the Entire Family

Fort Lauderdale - The City of Fort Lauderdale Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with the Broward County Parks and Recreation Department, will celebrate the 55th Annual David Deal Playday Kids Day with a series of events from July 30 through August 9, 2008. The Playday events will take place at Joseph C. Carter Park, which is located at 1450 West Sunrise Boulevard. The championship swim meet will take place at the Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Complex, which is located at 501 Seabreeze Boulevard.

All David Deal Kids Day activities are free and open to the public. With a wide range of activities, from live music to swimming, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Let the games begin! Olympic sports, novelty competitions, table games and wacky water sports are just a few of the activities planned. Prizes will be awarded all day for the best competitors.

Joy In The Park Family and Friends Day
Saturday, August 2, 2008
10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Family Unity Day Concert, Health Fair, and Rib Cook-off are just a part of this fun-filled day.

Championship Swim Meet
Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Complex, 501 Seabreeze Boulevard

11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Tri-county Summer Swim Leagues are invited to compete in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and team relays at the beautiful Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Complex. Entry deadline is July 27. Call 954-828-5435 to register.
