Fort Lauderdale - The City of Fort Lauderdale announces the following Tropical Storm Fay updates:

The City of Fort Lauderdale remains under a Tropical Storm Warning, a Tornado Watch, and Flood Watch this morning.

Damage assessment teams are deployed across the City, and early reports are for minimal storm-related damage. No major flooding issues have been reported. Residents should continue to monitor weather conditions and only travel this morning if necessary.

The 11th Avenue Swing Bridge is locked in the “open to vehicular traffic” position until further notice. However, the City is working to have it open for boat traffic some time this morning.

The City of Fort Lauderdale Ocean Rescue is manning the Fort Lauderdale Beach, however residents are urged to stay out of the water, as the storm has created unsafe swimming conditions.

Residents may call the City of Fort Lauderdale Hurricane Hotline at 954-828-8888 for recorded information and updates about the storm. Residents may also monitor radio station 1610 AM, Comcast Cable Channel 78 and the City’s website www.fortlauderdale.gov.
