Fort Lauderdale - The City of
Fort Lauderdale announces the following Tropical Storm Fay
updates:
The City of Fort Lauderdale remains under a Tropical Storm
Warning, a Tornado Watch until 4:00 p.m. and a Flood Watch
until 8:00 p.m.
City Hall and City of Fort Lauderdale Offices
City Hall and all City of Fort Lauderdale offices will resume
normal hours of operation on Wednesday, August 20, 2008.
Parks and Recreation
City of Fort Lauderdale Parks and Recreation programming
is canceled for this evening, Tuesday, August 19, 2008.
Parks and Recreation programming and facilities, including
after-school programming, will resume normal hours of operation
on Wednesday, August 20, 2008.
11th Avenue Swing Bridge
The 11th Avenue Swing Bridge is fully operational for vehicular,
boat and pedestrian traffic.
Fort Lauderdale Beach
City of Fort Lauderdale Ocean-Rescue resumed manning lifeguard-supervised
areas of Fort Lauderdale Beach this morning. However, residents
are urged to stay out of the water, as the storm has created
hazardous swimming conditions. Residents may monitor beach
conditions at anytime by calling 954-828-4597.
Sanitation Services
City of Fort Lauderdale sanitation services will operate
on a normal schedule on Wednesday, August 20, 2008. This
includes garbage, bulk trash, yard waste and recycling services.

the City of Fort Lauderdale’s 24-hour Customer Service
Center at (954) 828-8000.

Fort Lauderdale Hurricane Hotline at 954-828-8888 for recorded
information and updates about the storm. Residents may also

and the City’s website www.fortlauderdale.gov.
