Fort Lauderdale - Spruce up your yard with a free fruit tree from the City of Fort Lauderdale. Working in partnership with the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation, the City will host two free tree giveaways this weekend. Residents will be able to select from a variety of Citrus, Avocado, Mango, Lychee and Carambola trees while supplies last.
Don’t have a green thumb? No problem! Residents looking to learn more about fruit trees and proper tree maintenance are also invited to participate in a free, hands-on informational session that will be taught by the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation.
Details for the free class and tree giveaways are listed below. Please bring a current drivers license or City water bill as proof of residency. For more information, residents can call (954) 828-5785.
