City of Fort Lauderdale Traffic Advisory: November 26, 2008

Fort Lauderdale –A funeral procession and memorial service for Hollywood Police Officer, Alex Del Rio will result in traffic delays for motorists on Wednesday, November 26, 2008.

The procession is expected to depart at approximately 9:45 a.m. from the Fred Hunter Funeral Home, located at 6301 Taft Street, in Hollywood. The procession will proceed east through Hollywood to I-95, north along I-95 to NW 62 St (Cypress Creek Road) and west along NW 62 St to the Calvary Chapel @ 2401 NW 62 St, in Fort Lauderdale for a funeral service. The procession is expected to arrive at Calvary Chapel at approximately 10:30 a.m.

Following the Calvary Chapel service at approximately 12:30p.m., the funeral procession will return east along NW 62 St to I-95, south to Hollywood Boulevard, and west back to Fred Hunter Memorial Gardens @ 6301 Taft Street, in Hollywood for interment services.

Both processions will cause heavy traffic delays along Hollywood Boulevard, I-95, and NW 62 St from the City of Hollywood to north Fort Lauderdale. Motorists are encouraged to avoid this area between 9:45 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

A large number of Police agencies will attend the funeral service. No specific road closures are in place. Motorists should expect heavy traffic delays for the escort to and from the service.

Please consider using alternate travel routes to avoid this area of north Fort Lauderdale during these hours.
