Fort Lauderdale - The City of Fort Lauderdale and the Utility Advisory Committee will host the Green Expo in Stranahan Park from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2009.
The Green Expo is a free, outdoor, family-friendly conservation celebration that will feature organic exhibitors, interactive displays, children’s activities and light refreshments. More than 50 exhibitors will offer a wide-range of eco-friendly products from hybrid vehicles and solar panels to organic food and clothing.
Educational seminars will take place throughout the day to provide attendees with practical information they can use to become more eco-friendly at home and in the workplace. Residents will learn how to finance energy upgrades and obtain solar tax credits; discover how to use green gardening to transform their property into a butterfly habitat; and minimize their environmental footprint by reducing waste and recycling.
Other event highlights will include a free tree giveaway that will kick off at approximately 10:30 a.m.; a raffle to win an electric bicycle; and other free giveaways. A site map and complete list of Green Expo exhibitors and sponsors is available online at www.fortlauderdale.gov.
