Fort Lauderdale’s Jimmy Evert Tennis Center to Host USTA National Boys’ 14 Clay Court Championships

Fort Lauderdale – The City of Fort Lauderdale will host the 2009 USTA National Boys’ 14 Clay Court Championships, July 19-26, at the Jimmy Evert Tennis Center, located at 701 N.E. 12th Avenue in Fort Lauderdale. This is the premier tournament in the United States for boys ages 14 and under.

The USTA National Boys’ 14 Clay Court Championships consists of a 192-player singles draw with a feed-in consolation and a 96-team doubles draw with no consolation. Singles and doubles events begin on Sunday, July 19.

The Jimmy Evert Tennis Center is the City of Fort Lauderdale’s premier tennis facility and is recognized as one of the nation’s finest.  Its rich and distinguished history includes providing outstanding programming and tennis instruction to thousands of youth and adults and contributing to the development of numerous tennis professionals, such as Chris Evert and Jennifer Capriati.
