City of Fort Lauderdale Traffic Advisory: Winterfest Boat Parade

Fort Lauderdale - The 38th Annual Winterfest Boat Parade will set sail on the New River at approximately 6:00 p.m., Saturday, December 12, 2009. Motorists should expect traffic delays in and around the area as bridges are opened to accommodate the parade. Motorists should travel slowly in the area to ensure the safety of pedestrians and other motorists.

Bridges Along the Parade Route

The following is a list of scheduled bridge openings and closings for the evening of Saturday, December 12, 2009. Please note that times are approximate and may vary:

  • 7th Avenue Bridge Up: 5:40 p.m. Close: 8:00 p.m.
  • FECI Railroad Bridge Up: 5:00 p.m. Close: 8:00 p.m.
  • Andrews Avenue Bridge Up: 5:40 p.m. Close: 8:00 p.m.
  • 3rd Avenue Bridge Up: 5:40 p.m. Close: 8:00 p.m.
  • Las Olas Boulevard Up: 6:30 p.m. Close: 9:00 p.m.
  • Sunrise Boulevard Up: 7:20 p.m. Close: 9:30 p.m.
  • Oakland Park Boulevard Up: 7:40 p.m. Close: 10:00 p.m.
  • Commercial Boulevard Up: 8:00 p.m. Close: 11:00 p.m.

Message boards will be utilized to notify motorists of closure times.

Road Closure

The following road will be closed on Saturday, December 12, 2009:

  • SE 4 Street (Sagamore Rd) will be closed to vehicular traffic between SE 6 Ave. and SE 8 Ave. from 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
