AT&T Emergency Repairs to Affect Traffic on Broward Boulevard at N.E. 3rd Avenue Starting March 31, 2010

Fort Lauderdale - AT&T is making emergency repairs to water damaged underground cables affecting telephone and network services in downtown Fort Lauderdale. The repairs, starting at 6:30pm on March 31, 2010, will result in lane closures impacting traffic at the intersection of Broward Boulevard and N.E. 3rd Avenue adjacent to the Federal Court House and First Baptist Church.
Work will continue through the night and is scheduled to temporarily stop at 6:30am on Thursday, April 1. Work will resume at 6:30pm on Thursday, April 1 and continue through the night to 6:30am on Friday, April 2. If necessary, additional work will continue beginning at 6:30pm on Friday.
Motorists should avoid the area during construction hours if possible. Motorists traveling through the intersection should expect heavy traffic delays in and around the area of Broward Boulevard and N.E. 3rd Avenue.
Motorists should travel slowly in the area to ensure the safety of workers, pedestrians and other motorists.
Lane closures:
- One southbound lane of N.E. 3rd Avenue from N.E. 1st Street to Broward Boulevard (adjacent to the east side of the Federal Court House) will be closed
- Two eastbound lanes of Broward Boulevard in the block approaching N.E. 3rd Avenue (across the street from the south side of the Federal Court House) will be closed
- The left turn lane from southbound N.E. 3rd Avenue onto eastbound Broward Boulevard will be closed
- The left turn lane from northbound S.E. 3rd Avenue onto westbound Broward Boulevard will be closed
- The left turn lane from westbound Broward Boulevard to southbound SE 3 Ave will be closed.
