Fort Lauderdale – The City of Fort Lauderdale Parks and Recreation Department will be participating in the 2010 USDA Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) at nine various park sites, beginning Monday, June 21st, through Friday, August 13th (excluding July 5th).
The program, which is similar to the USDA National School Lunch Program, provides a nutritionally balanced lunch and snack for each child regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, age or disability during summer vacation when school lunches are not provided. Children 18 years old or younger, both enrolled and not enrolled in summer camp, are eligible for lunch and/or an afternoon snack at no charge.
All City of Fort Lauderdale summer camp SFSP sites are located in approved geographical areas of need where 50 percent or more of the youth qualify for free and reduced priced meals during the normal school year.
Lunches will be served from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and snacks will be served from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the following park sites:
