Fort Lauderdale – The City of Fort Lauderdale is hosting a spectacular weekend full of free, family activities to celebrate America’s birthday.
Kick off the long weekend with the 32nd Annual Bank of America Starlight Musicals on Friday, July 2 from 7 to 10 p.m. at Holiday Park, located at 1300 E. Sunrise Boulevard. This free concert series features live music each Friday through August 6. This week’s exciting lineup features Motown sounds from Higher Ground. Residents and visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, picnic baskets and their family and friends to the park for live entertainment under the stars.
On Sunday, the City of Fort Lauderdale and Ford Motor Company present the Ford of July, 4th of July Spectacular on Fort Lauderdale Beach. Celebrate America’s Independence with a full day of family activities on Fort Lauderdale Beach across from the Oasis Café, located at 600 Seabreeze Boulevard. The schedule of events includes:
11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Family beach activities featuring music, games and contests
3 p.m. - 6 p.m. Music provided by the Coast 97.3 FM
6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Live music provided by the Lahinch Mob
As the sun goes down, watch the sky light up with the City’s annual fireworks show at 9 p.m. off A1A and Las Olas Boulevard. Don’t miss this dazzling event!

Road Closures
On July 4 from 7 a.m. to midnight, S.E. 5th Street will be closed from Seabreeze Boulevard to Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard.
From July 2 at 6 a.m. to July 5 at 5 p.m., Las Olas Circle will be closed from the west side of the condominium driveway to the south side of the City parking lot entrance, north of East Las Olas Boulevard.
