Broward County Health Department Issues Precautionary Advisory Against Use of Recreational Waters in Two Neighborhoods

Fort Lauderdale - Broward County Health Department officials are advising the public of sewage contamination in recreational waters in the following areas in Fort Lauderdale (see maps).

Area 1 (View Area 1 Map)

  1. North of SW 12th Street
  2. South of SW 11th Court
  3. East of SW 8th Avenue
  4. West of SW 2nd Avenue

Area 2 (View Area 2 Map)

  1. North of NE 18th Street
  2. South of NE 22nd Street
  3. East of NE 22nd Terrace
  4. West of Middle River Drive 

People should avoid use of the recreational waters in these areas for fishing, swimming or jet skiing.

This advisory is effective immediately and continues until further notice.
