Fort Lauderdale - At 3 p.m. today, July 18, 2011, Broward County Health Department officials lifted the precautionary advisory regarding fishing, swimming and jet skiing in recreational waters for the following areas in Fort Lauderdale (see maps).

- North of SW 12th Street
- South of SW 11th Court
- East of SW 8th Avenue
- West of SW 2nd Avenue
Area 2 (View Area 2 Map)
- North of NE 18th Street
- South of NE 22nd Street
- East of NE 22nd Terrace
- West of Middle River Drive
The health advisory was issued last Tuesday when sewer mains broke at three locations in Fort Lauderdale. Engineers believe the breaks occurred during an ongoing project to improve a section of the plant and pipe conveyance system at the G.T. Lohmeyer Water Treatment Plant.
All recreational waters in the City of Fort Lauderdale are clear for fishing, swimming and jet skiing.
