Fort Lauderdale - Fort Lauderdale Fire-Rescue and the Liberal Black Firefighters Association of Broward County teamed-up to offer Firefighter Preparation Classes and the Survival Methods and Recruitment Training Program at 6 p.m. each Wednesday, September 28, 2011 to October 26, 2011 at Bass Park in Fort Lauderdale.
The free classes help prepare potential recruits for the application process and provide training and information on a variety of fire-rescue topics, including:
- Building Construction/Fire Behavior
- Hand/Power Tools
- Fire Prevention and Protection Systems
- EMS
- Search and Rescue
The program also teaches valuable survival swimming skills.
Bass Park is located at 2750 NW 19th Street, Fort Lauderdale.
