Fort Lauderdale - Construction and street light installation to impact traffic on roadways:

1. The Florida Department of Transportation will begin roadway improvements north of the Henry E. Kinney Tunnel along S.E. 6th Avenue during the month of October. During construction, the project team will close S.E. 6th Avenue from October 11 – 13, 2011, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. To access Broward Boulevard, the detour will direct northbound traffic along S.E. 6th Avenue to S.E. 2nd Street. 2. FPL is scheduled to begin installing new, turtle friendly lighting along State Route A1A on Monday, October 10. Motorists should expect rolling lane closures in the northbound and southbound lanes adjacent to Fort Lauderdale Beach Park (Between Harbor Drive and the Oasis Restaurant) between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. For more information call Matt Little at 954-828-4732.
