City of Fort Lauderdale Announces Grand Opening of Twin Lakes North Park

Fort Lauderdale – The City of Fort Lauderdale will host the grand opening of Twin Lakes North Park on Saturday, January 28 at 9 a.m. The park is located at 4600 Twin Lakes Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale. The grand opening program will include remarks from elected officials, City staff, and area residents. The ceremony will conclude with a sign unveiling, photo opportunities and refreshments.
Twin Lakes North Park is located in District I of Fort Lauderdale on approximately one-quarter acre. The City of Fort Lauderdale acquired the property in 2009, seeking to develop the land as a neighborhood park for the Twin Lakes North community. The park’s amenities include a playground with artificial turf surfacing and shade structure, walking path, picnic tables, park benches, a bicycle rack, native landscaping and trash receptacles.
Many of the materials being used in the park are defined as green components, which include products or technologies used in site development that reduce the environmental burden associated with traditional materials, fixtures or technologies. The following green components used in Twin Lakes North Park are made in whole or in part with recycled materials including the playground artificial turf surfacing, walking path, picnic tables, park benches and bicycle rack.
