Fort Lauderdale - The following traffic restrictions will be in place for the Fort Lauderdale St. Patrick’s Parade and Festival, which will take place on Saturday, March 9 from 11 am - 7 pm at Huizenga Plaza and along Las Olas Boulevard in downtown Fort Lauderdale:

Friday, March 8 and Saturday, March 9, 2013

  • E. Las Olas Boulevard from Andrews Avenue to S.E. 1st Avenue will be closed from Friday, March 8 at 7 a.m. to Saturday, March 9 at 9 p.m.

Saturday, March 9, 2013

  • E. Las Olas Boulevard from S.E. 1st Avenue to S.E. 8th Avenue will be closed from approximately 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • The intersections of E. Las Olas Boulevard and S.E. 2nd, 3rd and 6th Avenues will be closed from 11:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. These Avenues are anticipated to remain open for north and southbound traffic until 11:15 a.m.
  • SW 1st Avenue in Las Olas Riverfront and S.W. 2nd Street from Andrews Avenue to S.W. 2nd Avenue will be closed from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • North New River Drive East eastbound lanes will be closed from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. During this time, residents of the Watergarden and the Las Olas Grand condominiums should use SE 3 Avenue/SE 4 Street for entrance and exit.  Residents of the Las Olas River House condominiums should use SE 3 Avenue/New River Center parking garage driveway for entrance and exit.
  • Business and residential traffic south of E. Las Olas Boulevard and west of US 1 /Federal Highway should use S.E. 3rd Avenue and S.E. 4th Street to enter/exit the neighborhood, approaching from SE 6 Street on SE 3 Avenue.
  • Business and residential traffic south of E. Las Olas Boulevard and east of US 1/Federal Highway should use S.E. 8th Avenue or S.E. 11th Avenue to enter/exit the neighborhood.

Any residents who live directly inside a closure will still be allowed to and from their homes but may need to use an alternate route. Traffic congestion and delays should be expected throughout the day.
