Saving Water Inside

Florida's Water - It's Worth Saving

Saving water inside your home is something the entire family can do.  By implementing the simple tips below, you and your family can conserve water, save money and help protect this valuable resource.

  • Take shorter showers.
  • Turn the water off while washing, brushing teeth, or shaving.
  • Wash only full loads in clothes and dishwashers. Set clothes washer to the appropriate water level for the amount of clothes being washed.
  • Reduce excessive toilet flushing.  Do not use the toilet as a wastebasket.  Facial tissues and insects should not be disposed of in the toilet.
  • Check toilets, pipes and faucets for leaks and repair if leaks are found.
  • Install low flow toilets, showerheads and water flow restrictors.
