The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 was signed by President Obama on February 17, 2009. As part of the ARRA, the City of Fort Lauderdale is applying for federal grant funding that is available for programs and initiatives in several areas, including: public safety, housing, energy, and transportation.

The City submitted a funding request for its Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP).
The City was recently notified that the HPRP plan has been approved for funding.

The City was recently awarded stimulus funding to implement streetscape enhancement projects.
