Curbside Recycling Program

The Curbside Recycling Program provides curbside bins and weekly service for a variety of materials to all single-family homes, duplexes, and triplexes in the City of Fort Lauderdale.

Got BINS?

Every Fort Lauderdale resident in single-family homes, duplexes and triplexes can now participate in our UPGRADED Curbside Recycling Program! The new program uses one green bin and one blue bin. See the Two-Sort Recycling page for what to recycle and how to recycle.

Participate in this upgraded program by calling Customer Service at (954) 828-8000. Customer Service will ask you to place the bins you currently have at the curb. A City employee will then come by within three days to place the correct label on your blue bin and leave a new green bin.

Multi-family residents may participate in the City Partnership Program for apartments, condominiums, and townhouses. Read more about this on the apts/condos page.

Be On TIME!

The contractor may pick up recycling on your day anytime between 7 am and 6 pm. Curbside bins need to be placed at the curb by 7 am on collection days, but no more than 24 hours in advance. Call Customer Service at 954-828-8000 if you have collection problems.

What's My Recycling Day?

Not sure of your recycling day? Visit our GIS Property Information Reporter and enter your home address to find out your recycling day. You'll find your recycling day and other important information, including your City Commissioner, neighborhood association, garbage pickup day, bulk trash and yardwaste pickup days, your local fire station, schools and much more.

Recycle RIGHT!

Items that are not designated "recyclable program materials" create contamination problems. Unacceptable materials will be left behind in the bin. Please dispose of these left-behind items in the garbage.

Keep It LOOSE . . . Keep It DRY! Use Recycle Caps

Please keep all plastic bags out of recycling bins. Take your plastic bags back to the grocery store or reuse them. Recycle caps should be used to provide protective cover for paper recycling bins, help keep paper dry, and prevent littering. These caps are available free-of-charge to City residents on request; call Customer Service at 954-828-8000.

Telephone Directories

Recycle out-of-date phonebooks at the curb all year round in your green bin.
