Fort Lauderdale: Our City, Our Vision
What is your vision for the future?  Do you want Fort Lauderdale to be the "greenest" City in America?  The best City of its size?

The Visioning Committee is leading a citywide initiative to determine what Fort Lauderdale residents want their city to be in the future.  Neighbor input will be assembled into a vision plan that will be used to identify and prioritize future projects and guide spending.

Share Your Vision
Your participation is critical to the success of the visioning initiative.  The City of Fort Lauderdale and the Visioning Committee want to hear from you.  No idea is too big or too small, but we challenge residents to think outside the box and engage their neighbors in the process, so together we can develop a plan that reflects a vision for our entire community.

Next Steps
The City conducted initial outreach and hosted a series of public meetings for the visioning process late last year. You can review a draft report PDF File that summarizes input received to date.

Moving forward, the City will continue to coordinate opportunities to engage residents and encourage public participation.  Extensive public outreach will be conducted through the use of a website focusing on social ideation through crowd sourcing; telephone town hall meetings; and, the use of the "meeting in a box" to outreach to neighborhood and business associations, churches, high school and college classes, and advisory boards.

It is anticipated that the outreach efforts will continue through October 2012.  After the public outreach phase, a citywide Neighbor Summit will be conducted in order to craft a Vision Statement.  The Commission will be presented with a final report from the Visioning Committee early next year that they will review and consider for adoption.
