Security
The W.M.A. maintains an exclusive in-house security
operation. Our professional security personnel provide
coverage for W.M.A.'s perimeter areas and internal
corridors. Building security will also open and secure
exterior and interior access doors and monitor internal
traffic flow.
The W.M.A. business office is W.M.A.'s designated
communications base. The office is located at the
northwest corner of the lobby.
Security is provided by members of the Fort Lauderdale
Police Department. The number required for each event
is determined by the facility manager in conjunction
with the Police Department.
- The W.M.A. may require Lessee to provide minimum
levels of security coverage in any leased space
and other areas (i.e. public access areas, registration
areas, etc.). Such coverage will be at Lessee's
expense.
- No doors may be chained or otherwise locked without
the written approval of W.M.A. No doors can be chain
locked when an area is occupied.
- All approved chains must be plastic coated, and
W.M.A. in-house security must be presented with
keys to all locks.
- All proposed security arrangements are subject
to W.M.A. approval and must be submitted to the
W.M.A. a minimum of twenty-one (21) days prior to
the event.
- All service contractor and other event related
labor must enter/exit the W.M.A. via the designated
employee entrance and are to be properly badged.
- W.M.A. in-house security reserves all rights
to access any W.M.A. space.
- Use of armed guards is prohibited without the
written consent of the W.M.A. and/or the City of
Fort Lauderdale Police Department.
- The decisions of the City of Fort Lauderdale
Police Department and its designate are final.
All incidents of injury, vandalism, fire, theft,
loss, or damage should be reported to the W.M.A. business
office immediately. Following notification of any
incidents, security officers will initiate appropriate
reports and investigations.
